Rum is one of my all-time favourite spirits! There is just something about this fantastic drink that makes me think I’m sat on a beach. So, whilst I won’t be sat on the beach celebrating Rum Day in 2019, I will be enjoying a cocktail or two are our cocktail bar in Derby, trying all the different flavours there are available – and you never know. You might discover a new drink you’ve never tried before.
Rum Day Drinks at our Bar in Derby
It is the stuff of pirate legend and famously, rum was quoted as the only way to improve the already perfect Coca-Cola – and that’s a big statement. Rum is heaped in history, first being created in the Caribbean and then distilled into the rum we know today by Colonials. It is so historical that in many years to follow, rum was a popular offering as a bribe, in order to win favour with a particular party.
Whilst there will be no need for any of that in our bar in Derby. There will be an assortment of some of our favourite rums, including Sagatiba, Malibu, Captain Morgan, Spiced Captain Morgan, Bacardi Carta Blanca, MT Gay, Havana 3 Year and Appletons White.
Or try something from our cocktail menu such as our Passion Fruit Daiquiri (White Rum, Passionfruit Flesh & Puree, Freshly squeezed Lime Wedge), Strawberry Daiquiri (White Rum, Fresh Lime Juice, Sugar, Shaken with Grenadine & Fresh Strawberries), Long Island Ice Tea (Jose Cuervo Tequila, Appletons White Rum, Bombay Sapphire, Grey Goose Vodka, Triple Sec, Fresh Lime Juice, Pepsi) or Spiced Mojito (Captain Morgan’s Spiced Rum, Fresh Lime Juice, Sugar, Served muddled with Fresh Mint & Lime Wedges).
