As we come into spring, we notice that the weather can be touch and go. With some afternoons feeling as warm as a summer’s day, some mornings are still seeing visits from Jack Frost, and then there are those wet days, where you want to venture outside as little as possible.
Finding The Right Balance
With the weather being so unpredictable at this time of year. You might be unsure as to what you can wear if you’re off out first thing in the morning where there might still be a spot of frost on the floor, but a forecast of 17 degrees. We have a similar issue when it comes to swapping out dishes on our menu.
We have a wonderful selection of tapas dishes that are perfect for this time of year. A selection of hot and cold tapas allows for a variety of choices across the table. Aside from tapas, take a look at our selection of flatbreads. They are filling enough to keep you warm, and light enough that you are not too stuffed, although you can be after your pudding!
Another fabulous option is to share a pizza! With a complete selection of stonebaked pizzas available from your favourite gastropub in Derbyshire, there will be something for everyone. You can always add a selection of sides to complete the meal!
Local Spring Attractions
As we are only a short distance away from the Peak District, While the weather is nice, we recommend a trip out to take in some of the stunning scenery that the national park has to offer. Of course, if you have an active dog, we recommend bringing them along too.
Just a short trip away finds you in the centre of Derby, where there is an abundance of little exciting shops for your peruse at your will.
If you are looking for somewhere a little more green and a little artsier, head in the opposite direction and spend the day at Mercia Marina, a stunning area filled with little stores, and a great number of natural features.
Not Just A Bed For The Night
With spring being such a wonderful time of year, spending time out in the countryside is not only good for your health but also good for your mentality. So why not take yourself away for the night and a family run country pub? Hotels in Derby have never been as luxurious as our ensuite rooms.
