With the summer coming to a close, but the autumn not fully underway, September can be an unusual time. We can have glorious sunshine, a beer garden full of happy faces, and the fans blowing one day. And the next day we are all wrapped in jumpers, with our boots on, praying for the rain to stop. So how do we know what to eat?
Warm Weather Choices
With the weather this month being so hit and miss, we haven’t made the move over to our winter warmers menu just yet. And on those warmer days, you just need that little slice of summer. So take a look at our Gastro Menu.
Our fabulous flatbread kebabs are perfect for this time of year. The essence of summer, while preparing for the rain. Pair them with a nice glass of fizz to make it that little bit fancy.
Of course, there will still be our summer salads. Our favourite at this time of year is the Hoisin Beef Salad, with aspects of the summer but tied in with spiced cashew nuts to add an autumnal air to the dish.
Wet Weather Choices
While we have had one of the driest summers in decades, it means that we are now faced with the prospect of some very wet weather heading our way. And with wet weather, we look for hearty, warming dishes.
So if the rain is pouring, why not take a look at our homemade pies? They are perfect this time of year! Or if you are joining us for lunch, give our Lodge Club sandwich a try!
It Doesn’t End There
