Nestled in the heart of Derbyshire lies the Littleover Lodge. A friendly place where you can warm up, get some good food, and even stay the night, after a day of getting out and about in the local area. Even in the winter, we are surrounded by some beautiful scenes and some amazing things to do. And you’ll always be able to join us after to get warm and fed!
The Great Wintery Outdoors
There are some amazing wintery activities to enjoy in the local Derby area. Here are just a couple of the favourites from the team here at Littleover Lodge.
Attenborough Nature Reserve – While this nature reserve has some stunning views in the summer, they are equally as beautiful, and if there’s snow on the ground, even better.
Ashby-De-La-Zouch Castle – If you’re visiting on a weekend (closed during the week in winter) this stunning castle looks incredible in all weathers. Remember to wear your hat and scarf and head out to enjoy the stunning remains of a once-great castle.
Snowsports Centre – If you are looking for something that requires a little more adrenaline, but don’t want to risk the snow outside (and the ice) why not head over to the snowsports centre! Try your hand at some snowboarding. You never know, you might get the taste for it.
Welcoming Restaurant in Derby
After a long day out and about in the cold weather, there is nothing better than getting nice and warm, with some good hearty grub. So if you are looking for a restaurant in Derby, look no further than the Littleover Lodge.
Our fantastic gastro menu is available throughout the day, with no advance booking required. Although we recommend booking where possible just to ensure you have a table in our busiest times.
The menu includes some great hearty winter warmers including braised belly pork, steak stroganoff and vegetarian tagliatelle.

Staying the Night

Staying the night at Littleover Lodge means that once you have had enough to eat, maybe even a couple of drinks in the bar, you only have to pop upstairs to your room. No need to go out in the cold to wait for a taxi, or to drive home in the pouring rain, or icy conditions.
Once you get up to your room why not have a soak in the bath, or pop the TV on and enjoy a complimentary tea or coffee? There will be enough to have another in the morning before you need to check out at the standard late check out time of 11 am.
